Artist. Dreamer. Creator.

Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Atlanta College of Art in Atlanta, Georgia in 1993. After graduation, she moved to Prague, in the Czech Republic, where she immersed herself in the art scene. She was one of six artists chosen to participate in  “American Artists Living in Prague”, a prestigious exhibit hosted by the U.S. Embassy.

While in Prague, Amy participated in many collaborative art projects. Her 1995 collaboration with Czech artist Michael Bielicky resulted in the pair being chosen to participate in Ars Electronica, a world-renowned festival of art, technology, and science in Linz, Austria. After her return to the US, Amy continued to participate in a wide variety of group shows in the U.S. and abroad.

Amy moved to the island of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands in 1997 where she lives as a self-professed “visual artist, dreamer, adventurer and mom of two amazing humans.” Her mission is to foster community engagement in the arts through her classes, workshops, art mentorship programs and community-driven public art projects.

While in Prague, she became interested in art education while teaching art and English to young children with New York artist Shelton Walsmith. This inspired her to open her studio, Art Explorium, in 2013, where Amy teaches art classes and workshops for children and adults.

Amy participates in community art projects, such as murals, children’s art shows, and art shows benefiting a variety of local organizations, people and causes. Additionally, Amy teaches art workshops at the University of the Virgin Islands, as well as various locations on St. John and St. Croix.
